IDC Design Symposium
September 12 & 13, 2019, Vancouver
DESIGN THINKING: EXPLORING HUMAN CONNECTIONS
Join us in Vancouver, B.C, this September 12 and 13, 2019, as we host one of North America’s most uplifting, inspiring and expansive educational conferences showcasing the true value of design.
IDC brings together thought leaders, subject experts and game changers from the wider design, business and media community to explore design thinking through human connections, and the crucial role of design in shaping a productive, healthy and inclusive society.
The solution-based method of design thinking is at the heart of value generation and sustainable competitive advantage. It encourages a culture that values curiosity and disruptive innovation as well as being comfortable with ambiguity and experimentation.
In design thinking, problem solving is driven by three core beliefs – empathy, invention and iteration. Empathy establishes a deeper understanding of human needs, invention allows for the discovery of new possibilities or solutions, and iteration uses the first solution only as a stepping stone to better one.
The two-day symposium aims to expand horizons, networks and skills through a program of in-depth education, expert panel discussions, guided design tours, award presentations, emerging leaders programs and provocative conference keynotes.
This year, join us as we dive deeper into design thinking and explore the human connections to rapidly-changing technology, environment and nature, and sustainability and wellness.
